The “Young Leaders Accelerator” project, coordinated by SEE in Action and the University of Macedonia Research Institute’s Public Opinion Research Unit, was part of the Be In – Interreg EU program. Its main goal was to empower talented young individuals in shaping their career paths by strengthening both their soft and technical skills, while also providing valuable insights into current labor market trends.
The first event, “Implementing a Good Idea 101” was held online and brought together participants from both partner countries. Guest speakers included Ms. Anastasia Psoma, Project Manager of the HIGGS Accelerator Program, and Mr. Gorazd Smilevski, Founder and CEO of the Business Academy Smilevski. They shared their expertise on project management, fundraising, strategic planning, and sales. Participants had the opportunity to connect virtually, exchange ideas, and discuss their aspirations.
The second event was held in person in Thessaloniki over two days, where all participants took part in intensive workshops. These sessions focused on developing technical skills to foster specialized knowledge and expertise, aiming to promote long-term sustainability, independence, and productivity in both academic and professional settings. In parallel, the workshops also emphasized soft skill development, vital for thriving in research and collaborative work environments.
The program concluded with a final presentation and closing ceremony in Thessaloniki, offering participants a platform to reflect on their experiences, share their insights, and provide feedback to the organizers. The event was attended by academics, youth-focused journalists, students, and other key stakeholders.
